LINC is a private-public joint venture, a business model that will speed the completion of the mixed-use development, adding research, laboratory and office space as well as retail and restaurant options.

UMass Lowell and the city of Lowell are partnering with GMH Communities and Wexford Science & Technology, two developers that have an expansive and successful history of building mixed-use developments in cities with strong research universities.

More than 80% of the LINC project is externally funded.
